Photographer Spotlight Of The Week: Sharion Paterson

Third time’s the charm! At least for this week’s photographer, it is. We are featuring a talented Aussie that has tried two other professions- that have nothing to do with photography- before she got to her dream career she has today. First she was a RN, then she moved on to teach a horse riding program. Now she’s a fantastic photographer that takes photos that are fun- spirited and full of life, just take a look at her portfolio here. Everyone, meet Shairon Paterson.

I woke one morning and asked myself, ‘When I’m on my death bed, what is it I don’t want to look back and say I wish I’d tried that?’ Photography was one so I looked up where to study. I found a place offering interviews a couple of days later so I put a folio together and, amazingly got accepted and started studying a Diploma of Commercial Photography at Ultimo TAFE, Sydney! I studied three years and worked freelance as I went to pay my dues!
